I try to react to news such as this with the desire to seek some evidence to substantiate the claim.
After said evidence is confirmed, it is then that I embrace the good news!
I do hope this is true, and if so, it is great news indeed.

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols
Hey SD80MAC.
If 507 and 508 do originate and terminate at Flat Rock, I apologize.
I guess that makes more sense with the stop at Moterm.

"Now what I do not know exactly is how many trains per day continue through Waterloo that do not come onto the mainline. Even "if" that number is say 10 trains per day that you are gaining in Waterloo that you won't see in Elkhart, you are loosing a similar number of trains that run up and down the ...

Re: Waterloo Frequency
Waterloo is not seeing 100 per day, nor is Elkhart for that matter. Please remember Nick that not all symbols run every day, along with ensuring your list is current and up to date. Symbols can change often, which renders the old symbol changed to something else or discontinued. As few as around 50,...

Northbound CSX/Lake State Grain Train thru Holly this morning at 5:50am on the way to work.
Single CSX locomotive and 90 cars.
Not sure if he was stopping in Flint or not, but he might be long gone by now.

Re: CN South Bend/Flint Sub
Post all 91 symbols and we can begin an analysis to determine current symbols vs. discontinued/no longer active symbols. Remember too that while we may have 15-20 trains per day on the South Bend/Flint Subs, the total number of active symbols will be more than that due to the fact that not all symbo...

Re: CN Train Location Updates - October 2023
There have been quite a few trains today on the Holly sub since late this morning including 116, 251, empty sand train which was unusual, 507, and 508 not in that order. Hoping we will see more sand trains in the near future as well.

Re: CN Train Location Updates - October 2023
Well, had another Southbound S756 just go by Linden maybe around 12:30 or so.
2 CN locomotives and 1 CN pushing on the rear. Probably the typical 100 cars, but didn't do a count.

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???
Yeah, been hearing this news too.
From the CN Lake Orion Sub perspective, it appears we will likely be waiting longer to see if the branch comes back to life North of Collier Road.

Re: CN Train Location Updates - October 2023
So now I'm wondering if our occasional S756 trains are overflow from the NS, maybe when NS doesn't have enough crews? Or maybe CN does have one of the contracts, but they just run as needed?

Re: CN Train Location Updates - October 2023
S756 Sand Train, cool! We need more of those. They were running pretty regular last year or the year before, and haven't seen one in a while. Anyone know origin / destination? NS Main through Elkhart has quite a few Sand Train symbols that run through there, not all every day, but seems like there i...

Nice Video David!
He was really moving along there. I caught a train a few months back at that very crossing.
Thanks for sharing.

Try telling the police officer who pulls someone over for trying to beat the train - but officer, I didn't see it! Really?!

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - September 2023
It was stated on the other board that Detroit-Chicago traffic was now (or sometime in the near future apparently) going to be rerouted via Grand Rapids.
Could this be the reason for a very large 177 car M-327?
