Re: GTW HOLLY SUB, HAMTRAMICK FIRE
Don't take my word on this, but from my sources I have talked to and also analyzing the fire. I do not think the tank cars where the source of the fire. Never listen to the news most of the news is coming from their "experts" in this situation. The Hamtramick FD has not released any information on t...

Re: GTW HOLLY SUB, HAMTRAMICK FIRE
Holly is back open for traffic, speed restrictions are in effect though. Speed restrictions are at 25 mph between millage 6 and 6.4. There is also a "walking hazard" between 6 and 6.4 because of the foam on the tracks.

The engineer of Amtrak 353 told TD2 that "We made it, but it was a hair raising experience."

Re: CN Updates
12:35PM: 490 will be running strait through Pontiac around 12:45PM on track number one. I am unsure on the engine numbers. 382 is departing East Yard. 5:20PM: 5854 is taking a few gondolas and an auto rack south on the Holly moving very slow. 5:38PM: 5854 has arrived in Moterms North side and is hea...

Railroading in Michigan's Upper Peninsula Aug. 18 & 19
For the past week I have been traveling around Michigan and Wisconsin. On the 18th and 19th I visited Marquette, Michigan. During this time I watched the LS&I ore trains and CN freights. Unfortunately during my stay in Marquette very few boats(freighters, also known as ships) loading ore at a reason...

I wouldn't mind just seeing like one more freight train on the line.

Re: Local Drop Offs in Birmingham
I went up there tonight, the train track and loading dock is all still there, no train cars or anything. I wasn't able to walk down to see if the switch was still there because it was pouring rain.

Local Drop Offs in Birmingham
I have know there are a few spur lines in just south of the Birmingham train station on the Holly Sub. They have been used for as long as I can remember(10 years.) Does anyone know if these are still used? and if so, what train makes the drop offs and pick ups?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: CN Updates
A southbound mixed freight just came through Yellow Cab at 1:30AM. The train had and single GTW SD40-2 and seems quite along, although it is too dark to see the train.
EDIT: Looking at video footage I took it appears now to be the coal drag.

I didn't catch the numbers but I thought the SD70M-2 was on the front.
