Re: Chebanse, IL

Flashing yellow is a common indication. CN uses it on the ex-GTW even where new signal equipment has been installed. What you will see along the IC is two heads where most roads are using three. My assumption is the IC had been a frugal road and two heads cost less than three. It just a matter of l...

Chebanse, IL

Recently made a trip to Chebanse, Gilman and other points in-between in hopes of finding a CN train. At Chebanse, there was a signal just north of Chebanse Ave that displayed a yellow over red on one side, and the other side was flashing yellow. It wasn't until later that I recognized it to be an ol...

Oak Harbor

So, a friend and I were out watching trains around 9pm to almost 11pm. There was a path just to the right of the Toledo district bridge, backed the car in and watched trains.. apparently this lady across the street called us in and the cops told us to leave. We weren't being noisy or disrespectful. ...

Confirmed at 13:10, U304-12 is running with CSX engines #8199 & the trailing engine is the CSX #8619. The best I can tell is he originated in Lansing & was heard saying he...

Must've been a Grand Ledge train, there hasn't been a MQT grain train.
There's a long string of CH's on #4 track in Wyoming yard. At least I think it's #4, but I just saw them today. No idea how long they've been sitting there

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - March 2022

So, only 59 cars and they're using a rear dpu on 326. It seems as though they use a dpu on trains that wouldn't need one, and then you get a 326 with 120 cars with two lead units and no dpu. Just an example, it's what I've noticed. I'm sure weight of the train as something to do with this. Sometime...
