Re: Laharpe Shops

Just read that Brookhaven closed the La Harpe shops and has started scrapping a bunch of locomotives. Is this true?

Re: Cryo-Trans and Lineage Logistics - Novi

I saw something once on history channel about a UP produce train from out west and the entire thing was loaded like a unit train. Very impressive. Supply chain and logistics is my background. Lineage is a big player in the grocery/food biz. Oh yes, that would be the "Extreme Trains" program. A real...

Looks like the plant was saved by OX Industries in September. Anyone know if they are still using rail?

Re: Grayling and Gaylord

So with the discussion of the energy place going in up in Gaylord, it got me wondering, what is the current customer list on the Bay City to Gaylord line? See this listing (I just recently organized them by subdivision). It should be fairly accurate. http://railroadfan.com/wiki/index.php/Lake_State...

Re: The Wilkinson Corp. Transload in Millington

Delta is their only customer AFAIK. Couple cars a week or so perhaps. The Lapeer Industrial lost another customer? Ouch. Does that leave them with just two customers? Loc Performance and Delta Faucet? Thanks for clearing that up! I always thought those tanks were for Lapeer Industries (now Loc). Di...

LITTLE RIVER RAILROAD 110 is under steam again. All rebuilt and ready to go. Test fired this past week and run down the shop track.
Is it safe to assume it will be pulling the Christmas rides?

Re: Partner for Historic Train Depot

Howdy! The Village of Middleville (in Barry County) is looking for proposals from historic train enthusiasts to bring the local train depot back into productive use. The building is in good shape, but has been empty for many years. There are no train tracks any longer, as all in the area have been ...

Re: Go Go Squeeze email stating rail service starting

Materne (parent company of Go Go Squeeze) has a distribution center in Bolingbrook, Illinois. From the way the email is worded it sounds like the finished product will be transported to an intermodal terminal and than loaded on a train probably to the West Coast. I know for a fact that Campbell's So...

IIRC TSB ran to Reed City briefly before switching the Chessie interchange to Clare. I don't think the ran south of Reed City though. Does anybody know if TSBY ever ran to Reed City from Cadillac? I know that segment technically wasn't abandoned until later. Did the Yoplait factory ever use rail se...
