Sounds like a suicide try
If the guy was standing on the tracks and the train was coming, it sure sounds like he was trying to kill himself. I wonder how it was that he survived? Did he try to jump off the tracks at the last second? Or was he just trying to play "chicken" with the train? Amtrak *moves* fast through Chelsea. ...

Bad attitude
Unfortunately, the bad attitude as exhibited by the reply of "sd70accsxt700" only hurts other railfans. When a business gives folks a warning to mind your manners or risk the consequences of losing access to the rail facilities, it would be in the interests of *ALL* of us railfans for ALL of us to c...

Moefield, Larryton & Curlyville RR

It's only a (victim of) circumstance that many of the building names are the same as some of the businesses & words that were featured in Stooge shorts, suc...

Foam directly over grid?
Do you use the foam directly over the wooden grid without any plywood under the foam for strength? If so, have you ever had any accidents with anyone leaning on the foam too much and going right through? I see some folks on some model RR forums who seem to just use foam right on very light-weight su...

Modeling the Annie
Some folks may know that I'm modeling the Ann Arbor Railroad in HO scale in my four car garage (36' x 24') in Ann Arbor. The garage has a second floor and is heated. It only took two years, but at least now I have a complete loop of track so I can run trains. Someday I'll invite folks over to run a ...
