Re: Fight on the CKIN
Per the town, the museum is not the operator. They have been talking with a 3rd party operator that they claim they are very happy with.

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 3
I can tell you back in 2009-2010 the fee that NS paid to RA was as follows:
$0.32 per loaded axel per mile to include locomotives
So simple math: $0.32 x 300 axels= $96 per mile
Then multiply $96 x the miles the NS train raveled on the CFE and that what NS owes per train.

Re: We're on the Move 302 - NOT
Things should be running much smoother now, not perfect, but better. They've cleaned up a lot of the cars sitting and the search for a GM is still on.

Re: We're on the Move 302
The GDLK is struggling currently. The General Manager was let go Monday. The operation has been suffering from lack of leadership. An interim GM is in place and the search is on for a new one. The operation wasn't being managed and they are struggling to move traffic. There is a team from the corp o...

Re: Watco buying the Ann Arbor?
Keep your eyes on the AA and other area rail lines in the next 6-8 months. There is more to this puzzle coming. The SW Michigan area rail scene will be changing with Watco involved. Look towards the East for another acquisition in the next 3-5 months. Ok here is my original post. When I referred to...

Re: Watco buying the Ann Arbor?
Makes sense, only shortline I could think of still in Michigan that's east of the Annie is the A&B - didn't think it'd be "in play" but in this day and age you never know. Mschwiebert- Look past Ohio. Also don't be surprised if the WSOR expands or additional shorelines pop up in Wisconsin..... Ther...

Re: Watco buying the Ann Arbor?
I'm sure Watco is looking at the GLC. But I believe this move also had other intentions like blocking GW from getting it and connecting Michigan Lines and Ohio Lines. Lets look at future.... The Union Railroad will come under Watco in 2013-2014. The big play is going to be the Wheeling and Lake Eire...

Look for Watco to expand in the Eastern US in 2013. Lots on the table out that way that they are deep in at this point!

Re: The new grand elk railroad
Ok, heres the scoop on the Elk. They do not own the line. It's still leased for 99 years. But, per the lease Watco had to take over dispatching the line at a certain point and that point has arrived. Also they had to take over all the CTC. Sooooo for the last 2-3 months they have bee cutting over th...
