N95629 (saw it!) crossed 7 Mile Rd. NB in Northville at 1100. Led by BNSF 9382, with 5961 and 130 coal loads behind it. At 1130 SB crossed 7 Mile, with CSX 5212 in lead and 71 empty hoppers, mostly "Coke Express".

If not N956 then what was it? Good question. I live about 1/2 mile from the tracks but can't see them. But loaded coal trains are unmistakeable by their sound. There is a slight uphill grade from Plymouth to Northville, and loaded coal trains can be heard for up to 15-20 minutes or more as they groa...

NB E956 came thru Northville around 2:30 pm. Didn't see it, but heard it.

WB empty coal train (E945?) crossed 7 Mile Rd. in Salem Twp. about 3:15 this afternoon. Headed by BNSF 5960 with 9965 trailing and about 125 empties.

326 crossed 7 Mile Rd in Salem Twp. at 17:45 (caught it on a bike ride). Two Dark Future units, 23 cars, mixed freight. 2nd unit was #408, IIRC (can't remember the lead unit's number, but it was same model, I think - AC4400CW). 6 or 7 hoppers at end, last one was from Dow (DOWX).

Was out on my bike last night and as I went across the tracks on Currie Rd. in Salem Twp. at 8 pm, saw the eastbound CP train coming around the bend near 7 Mile Rd. Had 115 cars!

Charles, I checked my old Hammond 1925 atlas and it shows a CM&SP (Milwaukee Road) line that ran south from Stewart (off CB&Q / BNSF) thru Scarboro, Welland and on thru Mendota. It shows up on my old Conrail map from the 70's, but not on my Illinois hwy. map from 1991.
