Re: CSX OCS Heads-Up thread, 3/15/22
Only evidence of P001 train since. Went south from Chicago since that photo was shared on Heritage Units app Yea it is or was at Union Station. Not sure if it has moved from there yet. As I said iust can't find any evidence that supports the claim its running tomorrow. For the past two years it has...

CSXT 1727 the first ET23 released from Huntington, WV. was seen trailing northbound at Deshler, OH. headed to GE at Erie, PA. for testing. This is the first of the SD40-2 rebuilt with a 6 Cylinder GEVO prime mover. Image by Joe Kohnen, at Deshler, OH. https://scontent-ord5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808...

I guess I will jump on board when I have time. Here we travel back to 2007, specifically June 4th 2007, as K38904 with WE GP35 2691 & WE SD40 4025, head northbound on the Saginaw Sub in Canton on the way to Detroit. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52330006285_dbc0682810_3k.jpg High Hood Fever by...

Wednesday Grain Extra
On the way to "chase" the CSX OCS, we pulled out of the driveway and headed for I-75 and as we crossed the tracks I noticed the signal northbound south of Bridgeport, MI., was red. We waited and with in minuets a southbound grain train appeared. We ended up following it south to Grand Blanc, MI., be...

My take on the P00115 from Howell. Dodged rain and clouds. Ended up being the only photo. Got blocked by a UPS semi in Lansing and camera battery died at Sunfield.

Re: Dow Chemical Railroad
Semi-related fun fact, originally Central Michigan was going to be contracted to do all of the interplant switching at Dow. The railroad purchased the pair of GP8s expressly for this purpose, even. Then at the last minute, Dow reneged on the contract, and it was given to a third party. Something do...

Re: CSX Porter Branch
CSX runs M200, M353, B??? (Coal to ???), and the C600 series coal for Indiana Harbor. This is all south/west of Willow Creek. There is also Y1?? that a few times a week, at least runs to Willow Creek from East Chicago, shoves around the connection to the branch, and heads north with steel coil cars....

Re: CSX color scheme..
Most model paint manufactures just call it CSX YN2 Yellow, CSX YN2 Blue, CSX YN2 Gray, same for YN3. YN2 and YN3 Blue are different shades of blue.

Re: GE Trip Optimizer
Trip Optimizer has always run the train, all the engineer has to do is get the train moving up to 12 MPH and press a button. After that TO will run the train using throttle modulation, power, and dynamic brakes. The preferred method per CSX rules is throttle modulation. It will slow down 8 miles out...

Re: Marion Signal Suspension
Just a point of order. "Is going", the way it was used, implies that a signal *could* be saved. That is the point you were making. Neither say it was a done deal. Now...if he said "one signal will be " that is a different animal altogether. Then your observation of contact not being made would cont...

Re: Marion Signal Suspension
Seems that so many of the guys who were overly enthusiastic railfans have now turned into rails who think they are better than any lowly railfan that knows nothing. A bit sickening. So FACTS seen first hand, dont mean anything, if if seen by a "RAIL". Seams to me the "fans" seam to know it all, and...
