Wow lots of goog information. Hey NWrail, do you work for the GlC? I think it is great to have actual railroaders contributing to the web site. I am just a causual observer but have always been facinated with rail operations. Especially short lines. It must be a struggle to keep secondary lines like...

I haven't seen any evidence of the train coming through Fife lake(noth of Cadillac MI) for over two weeks. The normal schedual is one or two trains a week northbound with any thing from cement, plastics, tank cars or a box car. Also noticed the yard in Cadillac is rather empty lately. Caught a short...

Just a quick up date on my most recent sighting. Last Wed. The Cadillac crew made the run up to petosky and maxed out their 12 hour duty day. They tied down the train at Walton junction For the night on the way south. I talked to the conductor and he said it was mostly due to leaves on the rail, cau...

RE:
the wye in question is where the tc line cuts away from the cadilac-patasky line, near the corner of u.s.131 and m113. Thomas, yep this is the wye I am refering to. I am not sure but I think it is called Walton Junction. Like you said, this is where north bound trains out of cadillac either head to...

geo car sighting
The FRA test car came south through Fife Lake today. I followed them to Walton Junction and was suprised to see them use the north leg of the wye to access the Traverse City Branch. As far as I can tell this leg of the wye hasn't been used in years and is in pretty rough shape, but otherwise it cert...

Just a guess but if the large covered hoppers were delivered to Mancelona rather than Petoskey then they would have turned at Elmira reducing their trip by 54 miles (round trip from Elmira to Petoskey) you're probablu right I have seen hoppers on a sidding in mancelona. do you happen to know what t...

GLC/TSBY questions
Does any one know when another locomotive will be painted GLC colors? I haven't seen the high nose units lately, and thought mabey they were down for major overhaul and possibly paint. Also i have an Ann Arobor video showing crews "exchanging" trains in Clare. Does this still happen? from some of th...
