Re: Michigan Northern

Quite a few small customers. The big one was the lime place by Sand Lake-Pierson. Received 400-500 cars annually. There was a paper mill just north of Comstock that received/shipped quite a few cars. A scrap paper company started up around 1980ish and loaded at a team track in Howard City around 8 ...

Re: MSRR Washington Street Curve

It's because the car loading from the Shore can't justify having more than four axle power. CSX ran six axles on the Cannonball. To my knowledge, the mainline is able to handle a six. Re: Baraga/ L'Anse

2018 Father's Day flooding took out more than Houghton and places north. This section of rail saw a few major washouts from that same storm and CN made the repairs.

Weather Event 2018

I'd guess this didn't make the numbers look to good on the line and here we are, repaired rail with no traffic.

Re: Michigan Short Line Updates - August 2019

Nope, Alma crew is in GR tomorrow. Also, there's not a set schedule for the GRE, it should be ran Mon, Wed, Fri, but it depends on the cars and what is going on in Muskegon and over here in Alma. For example, last week GR was ran Tues, Thurs. This week however, it's a Mon, Wed, Fri. I like your thi...

Landed at the MR 8/21. Tender has been at the Blueberry for a few weeks. Rumor is it will be restored and ran. I'll believe it when I see it, but for now it made it to the new residence in Ishpeming.

Re: Palmer MI

Tracks ran off from Cnw north of the Ki Sawyer. Went west through Palmer and tied into what is now the Mineral Range on the west side of the Tilden. Amway would do a lot more rail, but they are generally appalled by the service level. They want to know when their product will arrive, and the railroad's just generally don't cut it.

Who's the source for this info?
