Re: Father and child injured by train.
Wow, another crash caused by a suspended license. I hope I never forget to renew mine, causing me to suddenly get hit by a train!

Re: UP train hits parade float
Ok ok calm yourself, yes it was a stupid move but people don't always make the right decision, ask yourself: did that driver really want all the veterans to get killed? How do you think he feels knowing that with his mistake he cost people their lives? I'm just saying it was not deliberate. When th...

Re: UP train hits parade float
What BS. However, it WAS an accident. I doubt the truck driver did it intentionally. Darwin roots these folks out eventually anyway.

It's been awhile, but don't the trains to Mexico cross somewhere in San Diego? I recall seeing them there.

Re: SPECIAL REPORT: DEATH ON THE RAILS~St. Louis, MO
I love reading the comments people post with these stories. Recently a boy was killed by an Amtrak train in Kirkwood, MO. Personally, I think the solution lies with Amtrak. Their trains are silent and incredibly fast. The trains need to move slower and with noise -- sirens, horns, or something simi...

Ridiculous speeding train story
When I lived on the Colorado front range a guy I worked with used to complain about the trains that blocked the street in Ft Collins. He also complained that they sometimes went too fast. He claimed that he saw a cop with the train pulled over and the cop was giving the engineer a ticket for speedin...

More useless news reporting. No wonder I don't watch, read, or care what is in the news.

Does anyone know how often Miller's (South of Omnisource Sturgis) gets a railcar? I have never seen anything there in the past 2 years.

Re: New Omnisource facility in Coldwater
Tom: does the Sturgus yard still have a locomotive? Nope. Not sure where that went. When they rebuilt the rail crossing at Bogen Rd they also ballasted the siding into the yard, up to the gates. They've also done some tie work on the line. There are additional sidings past Miller's that are in the ...

Re: New Omnisource facility in Coldwater
Omnisource here in Sturgis has not used its siding in a few years. I was just at the facility and the siding appears intact (in fact was partially reballasted last summer) but the only train I've seen was ballast last year. The track is intact almost to the Toll Road. Sturgis Iron and Metal used to ...

Obviously fake from the beginning. Why would you film so far in advance if you didn't know what would happen.

Re: Muncie to fight plans for trains to zip through at 60 MP
But time it and the gates are giving adequate warning. It is good that the railroad is giving notice and it is good to see the change in the press. Perhaps people will STOP, LOOK and LISTEN and respect the trains. And that's all they should have to do - give notice since they own the track and the ...
