Re: Belpre Industrial Parkersburg Railroad
Parent company owns Bucyrus Railcar which acquired the former T&OC/NYC shop facility in Bucyrus Ohio a few years ago. I believe there was an article in TRAINS regarding that operation and the family behind it. Apparently they have decided to expand into shortline operation. Hopefully they will do we...

Re: NS West Virginia Secondary-Columbus Oh to Alloy WV
Apparently Wednesdays 380 and yesterdays 610/381 were the last runs. The only activity today north of Hobson has been a track inspector and an Ohio Central BOT1 working the mine at Burr Oak. Additional cars have arrived at Watkins based on the old classification software and there was speculation th...

Tuesday 381 had NS 2801 NS 3445 with 41 cars into Hobson, 2 gons, 10 covered hoppers, 29 tanks. What is now the WV Secondary has had a rough life from the beginning. The 1931 opening of the Deepwater bridge was a big break. Virginian was happy to route traffic north and west via NYC instead of givin...

Re: NS Peavine talk
Train loads south of Dickinson, not sure of specific mine. Coal traffic has been all over the place. No coal for weeks, then for several weeks 3 trains per week, then more recently one or two per week. The most unusual part of the operation is that NS has not operated empty coal trains south via thi...

Re: NS Peavine talk
The 381-26 that was called out of Hobson Sunday morning was a big train because it was the only 381 NS ran last week.
