Just for the record:) The Dinner Train had permission to occupy the main overnight so the early morning risers could have taken photos of them parked side by side. Bob heard the whistle on the run around move. The "crew conversing" was picking up the paperwork for the CN & HESR in Durand. Neither tr...

I'm pretty sure they are putting in new pipes for sewage as well. Very similar to the project by the Amtrak station last year or was...

The hoppers east of the diamond were in long term storage for RSI in Hughart Yard. They disappeared a couple weeks ago. The Electrolux pool cars are all gone from the GRE/MMRR. They did not operate a train one day this week due to a lack of inbound / outbound cars. They did car repair (in Lowell) in...

The driver was exiting EB 96 at Alpine and dicovered he no brakes. He laid on the horn, crossed 3 Mile Road and only clipped one car. He then rolled it over rather than going over the embankment at the rear of the parking lot. No serious injuries reported. The good Lord was everybody's co-pilot that...

Grand Rapids Aerial Photos

I have started a photo gallery of aerial photos of the Grand Rapids area. I have access at work to aerial photos of Kent County from 1938, 1954, 1963, 1978 and 1984. These prints were / are used stereoscopically by our engineers to delineate drainage areas for culvert and storm sewer design. Dick DV...
