Re: St Joseph, Mi Swing Bridge Going Remote
Michigan has at least one remote-operation drawbridge, the Conrail Bridge over the Rouge River in Detroit. I’m not sure who operates it or from where-does CR Shared assets have its own dispatchers near Philly? Either way, the operational nuances are highly different between this and St. Joe. At CR B...

L302 and L303 often meet at South Lyon, the next siding east of Brighton. Keep an eye on the CSXT location updates thread as it’s possible if you see the eastbound first the westbound may come along before too long.

Re: New PM 1225 excursion train in a few weeks
Actually, this is reasonably exciting. When was the last time 1225 made a trip out of Owosso under steam that wasn’t related to North Pole Express? How many years ago? It's a major expense to fire up this tea kettle whether it’s making a long run or a shorter one, so I’ll be excited anytime 1225 is ...

There should be a VDB pickup. Perhaps the Dock Track is the next stop?

I have three extra brand new copies of the October 1987 Trains Magazine that features an extensive article and assessment of Michigan railroads I’d like to give away. This is a rail-served Michigan Sugar plant just southwest of Bay City. Might this mean an increase in carloads in or out?

Yes, this is the csx side of the Kelsey Hayes spur into the old plant. Looks like Evans and Home Depot are busy! David, if you look at an aerial map, you’ll see the Kelsey Hayes trackage is actually a big loop, connecting with the CSX south of 275 at a small two track yard where they can organize th...

I’m still confused about why these potash trains take the long way around. 4 crews needed to get it from Chicago to Webberville and that’s if the Plymouth sub crew has the time to run around at Williamson and then spot it in the Webberville stub end yard.
