Railfanning photos on Flickr

Hi Guys,

I recently opened an account at Flickr and have uploaded some of my railfanning photographs, each of which is linked to a map showing where the shot was taken.

If interested the link is http://www.flickr.com/photos/railfan412/

Best wishes to all, and stay warm!

Re: Unusual Traffic on CSX Short Line

Thanks for the detailed info! A fresh train on the Short Line is a welcome sight.

I corrected the train symbol to D752 in my notes and at railpictures.net.

Unusual Traffic on CSX Short Line

For the last several days I've been hearing that CSX train D762 has been running on the Cleveland Short Line Sub. Today I saw it for myself, westbound thru Berea. Local trains do not usually run on the main line here. Any idea of why this train is following this routing? I think it is normally seen ...

Bellevue Revisited

I made the circuit this past Saturday, going from my home in North Royalton to Bellevue - Willard - Greenwich - New London and back home. Here's a few links to pix from Bellevue if interested. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=341728 http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=341700 Cau...

Front Street Bridge In Berea

The new bridge raising Front Street over bot the NS and CSX tracks in Berea, Ohio is only days from completion. Unfortunately for railfans, fencing has been installed that makes photography from the bridge pretty much impossible. That sucks! Given the number of railfans frequenting Berea one would t...

Fall Foliage

The foliage is very close to peak fall color along the New Castle and Willard Terminal Subdivisions. Makes for some nice scenery for railfan photography. I love this time of year!

Re: Help suggestions or can them?

The 4th one appears flat and washed out, and the sky is a pale purple. I took a quick swing at correcting the color cast and adding some pop to the image using the curves adjustment. Something like this might do the trick. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u148/hacksaw412/Railfan%20Shots/8725_12857...

Re: NKP 765 to CVSR

I guess that one advantage to being an old guy like me is that I got to see steam power in revenue service, often pulling coal loads as a kid in Pennsylvania many times. My dad worked for the PRR and we used to take the train for free from my home town to Pittsburgh to watch the Pirates play at old ...

NS OCS at Olmsted Falls

I caught the NS OCS train in Olmsted Falls around 2:30 pm today. The train was just beginning a speed test run, starting at 60mph and going to 75mph in 5mph increments.

See this page from my web site

There is a link to a map of the Depot St area you might find useful.

Also, see Dick Croy's Berea page here . . . .

You are correct.

I spoke with a guy in Berea this morning who also saw this train and he was able to catch the symbol. It is in fact Z707.

Re: WLE on the CSX Short Line

Got no Idea but nice shot and great catch Thank you. I almost missed this one since the engineer was speaking awfully fast as he called signals, and the reception was quite garbled. I had no idea he was anywhere close to me until he began to throttle up, and I barely had enough time to get out of m...

WLE on the CSX Short Line

I caught this Wheeling & Lake Erie powered scrap metal train heading west on the Cleveland Short Line Sub this past Sunday evening (August 1st). Would anyone happen to know the train symbol used while it is on CSX tracks? I believe it would be Z??? Thanks. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?i...

All I remember about the hopper is that it said Clinchfield on the side in faded lettering, it was a 3 bay, and it was full of railroad ties, but I don't know if they were new.

What's up with this?

I was out before sunrise today (Friday) and I came upon an odd sight on the siding leading to the (abandoned?) grain silo complex at CP Boughtonville on the Willard Terminal Sub. Anyone care to venture a guess as to why this expensive piece of foreign power is tied down on a neglected siding in Nort...
