I used foam in a modular layout to take to shows frame was 1x4" with 2x2" stringers every 24 inches or so. I based my answere on what I used to see Indiana Hirail do back in the early 90's in Tiffin, Ohio they would plug the engine(GP35 371 ex DT&I) in at night to keep it warm so they could shut it down. They also at one time had an Alco C420 with the same hookup.

Everythig I have ever bought that had that dorky "as seen on tv" logo fell apart in a week or didn't work at all.
