Re: Derailment in Mancelona
I drove out there today and took a few pictures from my moving car. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1j5HU8stJwtoZCvK5IWpiGD_DxZ1i_oMo?usp=sharing Engines involved were SD40-2 382 (recently moved up here) and GP38-2 396. Neither engine was damaged. They are sitting a little bit aways from the ...

I keep meaning to ask, exactly where is this bridge? I seem to have the worst luck finding the dang thing in my car.

South Airport Road Crossing Malfunction?
The BATA Bus Dispatch Center in Traverse City here keeps mention something about the 'South Airport Road Railroad Crossing'... One of them in a video from a few years back was really sketchy and re-activated itself after the train went thru... maybe it's malfunctioning again? Can anyone from TC veri...

Traverse City Sub of Great Lakes Central
I'm confused as blazes here... I live about 3 miles from the Walton Road Crossing of the Traverse City Sub, owned by Great Lakes Central. Usually they use the sub to travel to the Traverse City area (and possibly beyond, i haven't chased past TC yet) once a week. A train goes through the Walton Road...

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates: July 2019
I caught 395 hauling some Steam Railroading Institute and MARC coaches, and 2 Ann Arbor RR Cabooses on 7/5/19 through Manton on Cam, but I have yet to post it. They were the coaches from the Steam Train stuff out of Fife Lake over the 4th , i'd caught the same coaches headed to FL earlier in the wee...

Saw it mentioned earlier and haven't been able to find it, where is the Manistee River Bridge, and how easy is it to access? I may go out there to film later this summer

Re: Great Lakes Central 398 Stuck in Snow in Traverse City,
The video I saw was of GLC 329. I'm looking at a facebook video I was sent and the 2 looked like a 9, guess it was 329. First time in a while a train's gotten stuck on the TC line, usually the major stuff happens on the Kalkaska sub. Edit: Video of the worst accident in this area in a while, other ...

Great Lakes Central 398 Stuck in Snow in Traverse City, Mi
Last night GLC 398 was going towards Cadillac yard and it became stuck at a crossing blocking the road for approximately 6 hours. It eventually was freed and continued on its route at approximatly 11:11 PM, 6 hours later than usual

Re: Ann Arbor to Traverse City study
I live in Kingsley, 2 miles from the nearest crossing, which is a basic one on a dirt road. However, most of our crossings in the Traverse City-Cadillac area are older ones with old signals and bells, and I think that if they did run that idea, they'd have to upgrade all the crossings except for one...

Has anyone mentioned the one permanently parked in Thompsonville, Michigan? It's been there since I can remember, under the Water Tower. You can't see it in Sattelite but it's there and I hope to snag photos next time i'm over there. Here's the maps link: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Thompsonv...
